Nathan Brown: We all enjoy having these big selection headaches!

Another positive from the Quins win was the number of penalties you conceded. It was just three this week, as opposed to 14 the week before, so was improving discipline an area you were working on?

If you look at all the games we’ve played this season, you’ll see that apart from one referee, our discipline’s been fine.

So, it’s probably more important to look at our approach when we’ve got Mr (Steve) Ganson as the referee again, I would say.

Against Castleford, there may have been some circumstances in the way he refereed us that day, but since then (RFL referees’ chief) Stuart Cummings has said we don’t have a problem.

In my opinion, I think our discipline is OK, and we do spend time on it during training, because you always want to be disciplined rather than undisciplined.

You’ve now coached the Giants six times in Super League, so has your impression of the competition changed in that time?

I thoroughly enjoy it.

It’s obviously quite different to the game in Australia, although it has quickened up over there because of the introduction of two referees.

I think people were getting a bit sick of the wrestle-winning and all the defence in the NRL.

My initial feelings are that the game over here is a bit more open, but it’s not as intense in defence.

Is there are further news on when Liam Fulton (the new signing from Australian NRL club Wests Tigers) might be arriving?

Unfortunately, all we can do is sit and wait for the phone call to tell us his visa is through and we can book him on the next available plane over here.

Apart from that, there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it, but obviously we hope he’s here sooner rather than later.

But when he does turn up we know he’ll be in good shape.

He’s continuing to train with the Tigers and he did play in at least one of the club’s trial games, although he won’t be playing in any of their reserve games, because the Tigers can’t risk him getting injured.

The reason we’ve been able to sign a player from them as good as Liam is because of the salary cap and the fact they couldn’t afford to pay him.

So if he got injured, we obviously wouldn’t take him and the Tigers would be in strife.

That’s no good for anyone.

And is there any new news regarding New Zealand Test half-back Nathan Fien. Reports in Auckland suggest he’ll be could joining the Giants next season.

You certainly know more than me then! All I can say, is that he is a player who interests us, that’s for sure.

Finally, how much sympathy do you have for the Wakefield club following the death of their young player Leon Walker during last weekend’s reserve game?

It’s not so much for the club, but for the parents of the young guy that died. All parents want their children to outlive them.

It’s obviously sad for the club, but they can eventually move on and sign another player. The players’ mum and dad can’t do that, they have to live with this for the rest of their lives, even though I’m sure the club will be giving them all the help they can.

As a parent myself, I know I would rather die tomorrow than have one of my children die tomorrow.
