Giants' Nathan Brown targets signings but focus is on Rochdale

GIANTS chief Nathan Brown has admitted Danny Brough is just one of a number of potential Super League targets.
As the Australian prepares his side for Sunday’s Carnegie Challenge Cup home clash against Rochdale Hornets (11.30am), speculation continues over a possible move for Wakefield half-back Brough.
It is thought the Giants have made no formal approach for the highly-influential 26-year-old, with Wakefield chief John Kear admitting Brough would cost Huddersfield a lot of money if they were to make an offer as he is under contract at Belle Vue until the end of next season.
Brown has not denied Brough is a player that has caught his attention.
But he has also revealed he has already targeted a number of potential signings for 2010.
“Everyone knows he (Brough) is a player of interest,” admitted Brown.
“To be honest, we’re always in the market for players and there are four or five players out there who we’re looking at. It’s just that their names haven’t got out yet, but there’s always a chance they will at some point.
“We’ve probably been looking at our recruitment for next year for the last two months, like I’m sure many clubs have been doing. It’s an on-going process.”
It is believed that any move for Brough in the near future would cost the Giants around £100,000.
But with money still available as a result of Huddersfield failing in their bid to bring controversial Australian superstar Todd Carney to England, a deal could be struck at some point.
