Nathan Brown column: Win over Rovers shows we’re now back on track
Jun 11 2009 by Chris Roberts, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
In the past, Leeds and St Helens won virtually everything, and Huddersfield may have gone into the game not believing they could beat them.
But I believe this group now believes they can win, given what they have already achieved this year.
We’re fourth in Super League and in the last four of the Challenge Cup.
That proves we’re not a bad side and that we are genuinely capable of challenging the top sides.
Finally, how much are you looking forward to seeing Eorl and Scotty playing for England?
It should be a great occasion and I’m sure they’ll give excellent accounts of themselves.
Eorl’s been a great player for us all year, and that consistency has now gained the right recognition.
In the case of Scotty, he started the season well and than had a dip.
But he’s now back to his best and to be picked in such an important position as hooker for a Test match at the age of 21 is a great effort.
And the reality is that if he keeps working hard he can be a much better player when he’s about 23 or 24.
