Examiner RL writer Chris Roberts puts the questions to the Giants boss.
How pleased were you that Leroy Cudjoe has signed a four-year contract extension.
Delighted.
It’s a deal that’s thoroughly deserved.
He’s a very talented young player and, as I’ve always said, the more Leroy believes in himself, the better player he’ll be.
There’s no question everyone at the Giants believes in him, and there’s no-one with a higher opinion of Leroy than myself.
He’s got exceptional talent, he possesses a vast array of skills which a lot of people don’t have and he’s turned himself into a very good defensive player as well.
On top of that, he’s also at home playing centre – probably his best position – full-back or stand-off, because his skills are good, and that versatility is also a bonus for the club, as is his goal-kicking ability.
There’s no doubt at all he’s got a good career ahead of him.
So has the news put everyone in even better heart ahead of Sunday’s home game against Harlequins?
Everyone’s really looking forward to this weekend.
Last week’s break has definitely helped freshen everyone up, both physically and mentally.
It’s enabled a lot of players to get over little niggles, while we’re also ready to welcome back four of five players after injury.
The other good thing is that both Kevin Brown and David Fa’alogo have now got a couple of games under their belt and are starting to build up their form once again.
Doof is showing some really good signs and Kev was starting to settle back into the side.
They’re both now ready to put in a good 80 minutes, which is an exciting prospect, particularly now Danny Brough is 100% again and raring to go.
