Examiner RL writer Chris Roberts puts the questions to the Giants coach.

Although the main focus this week is on the home game against Leeds on Sunday, there’s also been a lot of activity on the recruitment front with the signing of Luke George from Wakefield and Castleford’s Greg Eden. How delighted are you about this?

They are two excellent signings for the Giants.

They are players with a tremendous amount of potential and I think everyone is looking forward to seeing them try and push for a regular starting spot next season.

Luke is probably the more well-known of the two to Giants fans after he began his career here in the Academy.

He is a big, athletic player and he will fit in well alongside our other homegrown outside backs.

We already have the likes of Jermaine (McGillvary), Leroy (Cudjoe) and Michael (Lawrence) and I’m sure Luke will come in and fit in well.

If he puts the same amount of work in that those three guys do, then I’m sure his game can really develop.

He’s a player I’ve followed since I came to the club and he’s got a lot of potential to become a really good Super League player.

Greg is someone who is a natural rugby league player.

At this stage we aren’t sure what his best position will end up being, it could be full-back, wing or centre.

He could probably even play stand-off at a push, but he is someone we’re really excited about signing.

There’s no doubt he is a player with a lot of talent and when we sit down with him over the pre-season we will get a better idea what his best position is.

Do you feel the win over Harlequins is a sign that the Giants are coming back into form at just the right time?

It was certainly a step in the right direction.

The key now is to make sure we build on our second-half performance against Quins when we take on Leeds on Sunday, continue to improve and make sure we put in a big performance to take into the play-offs.

We know the result of this weekend’s home game won’t change where we finish in the league table, because we’re guaranteed fourth spot, but it’s still a huge game for us.

So how happy were you with what you saw from the side last Sunday?

It was good to get such a nice result and, overall, there were a lot of positives.
