Huddersfield Town legend Andy Booth's column: I'd love to see Neil Warnock and David Beckham at QPR

REPORTS linking David Beckham with a move to Queens Park Rangers made me smile.

The Londoners, of course, are  managed by one of my old bosses,  Neil Warnock.

And on first sight, it’s hard to  imagine the two of them working  together.

Traditionally, Neil  makes most of his  signings from a lower  level to the one he’s  operating at.

The diamonds he  has had are generally  the types he has had to  polish.

Beckham obviously  comes from a different  sphere, but the backing  Neil has at Loftus Road  has opened up a whole  lot of possibilities.

I’m pretty sure  Beckham won’t have  had a boss like Neil,  but if he bought into the  way he likes to operate,  it could work.

Neil has a huge amount of  experience, and he has that ability  to get the best out of the players at  his disposal – whatever their  background.

There are no prima donnas in a  Warnock squad, but I don’t think for  a minute Beckham is one of those.

Look at the way he  willingly travels the  world to play for  England and help  promote the country.

Football is very  firmly in his blood, as  shown by his  eagerness to continue  playing in Europe as  well as the USA.

He came to train at  Tottenham when he  didn’t have to, and I  think he would be a  good fit across the  capital in Shepherds  Bush.

Neil might have  played down the  rumours, but I’d love to  see it happen!

TOMORROW’S trip to  Sheffield United is  mouth-watering.

We haven’t played each other that many times in  recent years, and Bramall Lane always has a decent  atmosphere.

I went there with both Town and Sheffield  Wednesday, and the steel-city derby, which will happen again this  season, is as intense as most.

I always struggled to get my head around the fact that people from the same workplace or street, and sometimes house, could be up against each other so passionately.

Blades fans have put  up with some tough  times, but things have  gone well this season.

That’s testament to the  work of Danny Wilson,  who as a former  Wednesday player and  manager, is under extra  pressure to produce the  goods across the divide.

It will be tough, but I  believe we have the  players to get the right  result over there.
