HOW THEY RATED:
Phil Senior A couple of mistakes but certainly didn't deserve to let in six. Brilliant stops from Parker and Blinkhorn Rating: 6/10
Andy Holdsworth On edge after getting a yellow card, he had a tough time against Paul Edwards but played better as game went on Rating: 6/10
Anthony Lloyd Made a few anxious clearances but pushed forward well to supply some decent crosses into the box Rating: 6/10
Steve Yates Stuck to his guns when Town were reduced to 10 and was pretty solid throughout considering six goals were leaked Rating: 7/10
Efe Sodje Sent off for the second time this season for an elbow, which ultimately proved costly for his team and the fans Rating: 3/10
John McCombe Strong and effective, he not only looked the part at the back, but he scored his first senior goal and also hit a post Rating: 8/10
Tony Carss Tremendous corners for the first two Town goals and, after a poor first half, he bounced back to work really hard Rating: 6/10
Lee Fowler Did his best to inject a spark in the first half and linked well with Schofield a number of times to pin Blackpool back Rating: 7/10
Danny Schofield Scored a fabulous Tony Carss-style volley from a corner after missing a much simpler chance just before half time Rating: 6/10
Andy Booth Starved of service in the first half, he teed up a great chance for John McAliskey from which he should have won it Rating: 6/10
John McAliskey Worked hard and keen to show his skills, all he needed was a goal to cap a decent return to first-team colours Rating: 6/10
REF RATING:
COUNTY Durham official Nigel Miller was in charge of Town matches twice last season and both of them were won - thrillingly on each occasion at York City (2-0) and superbly at Northampton (1-0).
Last night, he was again quickly on the mark to make his decisions and his booking of Holdsworth and dismissal of Sodje could not be argued with. Blackpool striker Keigan Parker, however, could feel aggrieved to receive a yellow card for kicking the ball away when, effectively, he was only returning the ball to Phil Senior's arms in the box.
Blackpool: Ilic, Southern, Warhurst (Wellens 56), Parker, Coid, Blinkhorn, Wiles (Richardson 56), R Edwards, Doughty, Clare, P Edwards (Burns HT). Subs not used: Jones (Gkp), Taylor.
