Man of the Match: Nathan Clarke
Described as brilliant by manager Peter Jackson, he was very prominent for Town, covering superbly on two first-half breaks and using the ball reasonably well on a bad day all round.
How they rated:
Paul Rachubka Didn't have a save to make all match and was beaten by Wrexham's only two efforts at goal. Rating: 4/10
Andy Holdsworth With Leeds taking a look he would have wanted to perform better, but his passing was off and he rarely threatened the box Rating: 3/10
Tony Carss Supplied the pass from which Schofield scored while at wing-back. In midfield he just couldn't find the breakthrough Rating: 3/10
Steve Yates Determined as usual but there were some scary moments at the back. Worryingly went off suffering knee injury Rating: 3/10
Nathan Clarke Another creditable display at the back despite misjudging Ferguson's cross for the Wrexham opener Rating: 7/10
David Mirfin Slid in to concede a soft penalty which Chris Armstrong played for, but otherwise pretty solid and efficient Rating: 5/10
Chris Brandon Did a lot of unselfish running and was a hot contender for the man of the match award. His best display for a while Rating: 6/10
Jon Worthington Made some very solid tackles during the game but Town just didn't click in midfield. Got stamped on by Sam for his trouble Rating: 3/10
Danny Schofield Cracking goal and perhaps unluckily paid the price for losing the ball too much when taken off. Rating: 4/10
Andy Booth Battled on after falling awkwardly in the fifth minute and hurting an ankle. Forced off later and a huge Town loss Rating: 4/10
Pawel Abbott Poor by his standards because he kept losing possession and he failed to get on the end of a single chance Rating: 3/10
Wrexham: Baker, Lawrence, Morgan, Pejic, Spender, Holt (Armstrong HT), Jones, Ferguson, Green (Crowell 88), Ugarte (Sam 80), Llewellyn. Subs not used: Mackin, Dibble.
