Huddersfield Town 2, Bournemouth 2

Not only that, but Bournemouth broke straight up field and from a long ball which caught both Tom Clarke and keeper Paul Rachubka in two minds, Hayter controlled and scored a brilliant equaliser.

The drama wasn't over as only 90 seconds later, Abbott battled himself clear again only to be thwarted by another piece of Stewart brilliance.

The Preston-born keeper reckoned the Brandon stop was his best and admitted it was the best game of his career.

"I've probably not played a better game because of the importance of the result to our club," he said.

"It wasn't all plain sailing because I let in two goals and we were trailing at half time, but I take pride from the way things went in the second half and it's given us all a big boost in confidence.

"Hopefully, now, we can take this on because we have proved we can come from two down, we've proved we can score goals and we've proved we can create chances.

"There was just as much pressure for the front lads to score the goals as there was for me to keep them out but I enjoyed myself, there were some good saves among them and we are very happy to have taken something from the game in the circumstances."

Bournemouth's delight was matched by Town's disappointment, especially when back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season would have sealed full reward on top of some enterprising first-half domination.

Despite often facing nine outfield players behind the ball, Town created plenty of openings with Taylor-Fletcher, Abbott and Schofield well backed up by Brandon, Andy Holdsworth and Danny Adams wide out.

Brandon and skipper Jon Worthington combined well to lay on the first goal after 13 minutes for Schofield, who finished superbly with a dipping shot from just outside the D.

Bournemouth seemed beaten seven minutes later when Adams crossed from the left and, after Abbott's header had taken a deflection off Josh Gowling, Taylor-Fletcher looped home a neat header for his seventh of the season.

Abbott and Taylor-Fletcher (twice) were denied further goals before the break, but chances for Hayter and the lively Steven Foley served notice of the turnabout to come.

It was a sickener for Town, who sent on Andy Booth, Mark Hudson and Junior Mendes in a vain effort to grab a winner, but it's vital the disappointment of the draw isn't allowed to fester.
