It was inspiring stuff from Town, with Worthington and Hudson controlling midfield and the full-backs linking gloriously with Brandon and Schofield down the flanks.
Add to that the strong centre-back play of Clarke and David Mirfin and the aerial dominance of Andy Booth - who linked well with the industrious Gary Taylor-Fletcher - and it was an intoxicating cocktail of all that's so likeable about Jackson's confident side.
Even in the second half Town had all the best chances and the only disappointment was that they didn't win by more.
Man of the Match: Danny Schofield
His trickery was a big feature throughout.
Scored, hit the post and involved in many of the best moves, he maintained his threat as Town chalked up the best home record in League I.
Turning point:
While Andy Booth's eighth goal of the season was the clincher, it was Danny Schofield's opener which laid the foundation for Town's best football of the season in the first half. Up to that point, Forest had looked like settling with a couple of half chances, but Schofield's goal sent them into disarray and Town took command
