Huddersfield Town 2, Notts Forest 1

How they rated:

Paul Rachubka Fortunate not to receive a bad injury from Lester going in late, he looked assured and made a fine save from Taylor. Rating: 7/10

Andy Holdsworth In excellent form down the right as Town pushed on, he had three stitches in a leg wound after Lester's dismissal Rating: 7/10

Danny Adams A ready outlet for the midfield, he played a long through ball for Schofield's opener and used the ball well all day Rating: 7/10

David Mirfin Complained of being fouled when Lester scored a soft goal, but generally quick, solid and very dominant Rating: 7/10

Nathan Clarke Again looking in super form, he didn't give Taylor or Tyson much of a look-in. Could have scored in a scramble Rating: 7/10

Danny Schofield Sublime first touch for his goal and unlucky not to score from the best move of the match, he was in excellent form Rating: 8/10

Jon Worthington The driving force for Town's best play in the first half, he was not so influential in the second but still worked hard Rating: 7/10

Mark Hudson Another who was better first half than second, he produced some storming forward bursts and linked play excellently at times Rating: 7/10

Chris Brandon Brilliant turn and cross for Booth's clinching goal, he had the Forest defence on edge for most of the match Rating: 7/10

Andy Booth Scored his eighth of the season and magnificent in the air at both ends. Close to adding on a couple of occasions Rating: 7/10

Gary T-Fletcher Linked excellently with Booth at times and showed his value when running at the Forest back line. Plenty of graft Rating: 7/10

Spotlight on the ref:

Mike Dean made a bad mistake when not sending off substitute Jack Lester in the first half for a late, high challenge on keeper Paul Rachubka. Also missed early pushes and two-footed challenges. Rightly sent off both Breckin and Lester and played a fine advantage before Breckin hauled down Taylor-Fletcher

Nottingham Forest: Gerrard; Eaden (Holt 74), Morgan (Lester 31), Breckin, Cullip, Curtis; Southall, Thompson, Perch (Bastians 52); Taylor, Tyson. Subs not used: Gardner, Pederson.
