Huddersfield Town 0, Gillingham 0

Man of the Match: Nathan Clarke
Made some superb blocks in and around the six-yard box and made few mistakes when left to guard against Gillingham's counter attacks. Solid in the air and always looking to inspire
How they rated:
Phil Senior A few poor kicks, but he did well on his first appearance since April. Decisive and alert, he deserved a clean sheet Rating: 6/10
Andy Holdsworth Excellent in the first half when he won and used the ball well, he found it harder to make headway in the second period Rating: 6/10
Danny Adams Uncompromising in the tackle, he did plenty of valuable clearing up work and also played decent passes forward Rating: 6/10
Martin McIntosh Playing two games in three days after four months out cannot be easy, but he gave a very solid performance Rating: 6/10
Nathan Clarke Top man for Town with some excellent defence and got the ball forward well. Used his throw-in to good effect late on Rating: 7/10
Adnan Ahmed Worked hard and made some super tackles, but couldn't find a cutting edge going forward like he did at Barnsley Rating: 5/10
Jon Worthington Got stuck in and did a lot of unselfish tracking back but, once again, he couldn't find a break despite some fine runs Rating: 5/10
Gary T-Fletcher Played wide right and he grafted to create a few decent half-chances. But he couldn't hit the target when through. Rating: 5/10
Danny Schofield Had a great chance 10 minutes from time but fired high and wide when Fletch and Booth were better placed Rating: 5/10
Andy Booth A frustrating day for the big man, especially when he fired over a volley on the turn just five minutes from time Rating: 5/10
Pawel Abbott Made some really good runs in the first half and provided shots and crosses, but he ran out of ideas and steam Rating: 5/10
Turning Point:
Nathan Clarke was easily Town's best performer and his double block in the box after the impressive Danny Spiller had taken advantage of a Danny Adams slip summed up everything about his display. Had Town gone behind at that stage, just two minutes before the break, it would have been a truly sickening blow
Spotlight on the ref:
Scott Mathieson from Stockport had a decent game but let himself down on a couple of notable occasions. The most glaring was when he halted a Danny Schofield run to award Town a free kick and didn't even caution the offending Gillingham player. A couple of bad offside decisions also rankled
Gillingham: Brown; Wallis, Jackman, Sancho, Johnson; Spiller, Crofts, Flynn, Fobe-Edusei (Grant 55); Shields (Hislop 86), Harris. Subs not used: Crichton, Pouton (no fifth sub).
