David Mirfin Replacing McIntosh, he worked hard, being denied an early chance and going up front late on, but not at his best Rating: 4/10
Nathan Clarke Repelled plenty around the box and defended as well as anyone. Showed urgency to try and get Town going Rating: 5/10
Mark Hudson Back in the side, saw plenty of the ball and passed it well. Couldn't find the killer pass. Had first shot on target (45) Rating: 4/10
Jon Worthington Revelled in the bruising midfield confrontation but couldn't spark Town into creating genuine scoring chances Rating: 4/10
Tom Clarke Never really got into the game during the fiery events of the first half and was taken off in a formation shuffle (HT) Rating: 4/10
Chris Brandon On the field only 16 minutes because he suffered a bad head wound. Pity, because he was looking a threat Rating: 5/10
Danny Schofield Got into some excellent attacking positions in the second half but couldn't make them count. Hit one shot high Rating: 5/10
Gary T-Fletcher Thankless task up front as Town mis-fired. Ran himself ragged, teed up a shot for Hudson but no chances himself 5/10
Spotlight on the Ref:
Hampshire official Keith Stroud had his hands full in a fiery encounter but he didn't shrink from any of the major decisions when sending-off Newman on 16 minutes and Rachubka on 48.
One or two `tasty' challenges on both sides went unpunished, as did some niggly off-the-ball stuff in a generally hostile atmosphere
Brentford: Bankole (Nelson 72); O'Connor, Sodje, Turner, Frampton (Hutchinson 53); Rankin, Newman, Tabb, Tillen; Owusu (Brooker 66), Campbell. Subs not used: Fitzgerald, Mousinho.
