Huddersfield Town 4, Rotherham United 1

Man of the Match: Andy Booth

Back to his best with hat trick and a tremendous all-round performance. Rotherham manager Alan Knill, who still carries scars from his own battles with the Town frontman, warned his team about Boothy but it did them no good.

Turning Point:

The moment Andy Booth completed his hat trick because, at that point, it was obvious Rotherham, for all their hard effort, were going to go home empty handed.

It was a fantastic flying header, too, from Holdsworth's cross, highlighting that if Town can provide good service, Boothy will do the rest.

How they rated:

Phil Senior Left stranded by a good finish for Rotherham's goal, he did the rest of his work solidly and without fuss. Kicked well Rating: 7/10

Andy Holdsworth Recalled to his normal position at right-back and involved in the build-up to all Town's goals in a terrific personal display Rating: 8/10

Danny Adams Made one excellent clearance from near goal when Shaun Barker looked like scoring. Solid show Rating: 7/10

Martin McIntosh Defeated by the bounce before Rotherham's goal he responded to play soundly. One superb tackle on Forte Rating: 7/10

Nathan Clarke Did well to put Keane off his shot on a quick Rotherham break in the first half. A calming influence in the second Rating: 7/10

Danny Schofield His skills caused the visitors plenty of trouble and he was desperately unlucky to be booked for diving on 34 mins Rating: 8/10

Jon Worthington Booked for the 14th time this season and worked hard to get the team going after a slow start. Tireless effort Rating: 8/10

Mark Hudson Played a brilliant raking pass to Holdsworth so that he could lay on the first Booth goal. Had a few silly moments as well Rating: 7/10

Chris Brandon Lively contribution in the first half, when he tackled back well, and involved in some neat link-ups throughout Rating: 7/10

Andy Booth Cracking performance with a hat trick for his first goals of 2006 and plenty of hard work to star in valuable victory Rating: 9/10

David Graham Not one of his better days and, apart from one flick through, little seemed to work out. Close with free kick. Rating: 6/10

Spotlight on the Ref:

Colin Webster from Tyne and Wear had a pretty good match overall, but how he could book Danny Schofield for diving when Town seemed to have a clear penalty against Paul Hurst in the 35th minute will remain a mystery.

He was on the spot for most other things, however, and the early bookings of Jon Worthington and Colin Murdock calmed things.

Rotherham United: Montgomery, Hurst, Robertson, Barker, Murdock, Mullin, McClaren (Hoskins 79), Quinn, Keane, Williamson, Forte (Shaw 61). Subs not used: Monkhouse, Worrell, Cutler.
