Huddersfield Town 3, Rotherham United 0

How They Rated:

Matt Glennon Great to see the new keeper produce another very positive display, and this time keep a clean sheet. Rating: 7/10

Andy Holdsworth Much more assured than down at Gillingham. Tackled and covered well and put in some neat crosses. Rating: 6/10

Danny Adams Like his fellow full-back Holdsworth, showed an improvement on Priestfield to help the clean-sheet effort. Rating: 6/10

David Mirfin Made a first start since Swindon on the final day of the regular 2005-06 season and looked a little rusty. Rating: 6/10

Nathan Clarke Like the full-backs, better than he was on Saturday, but there's still a lot more to come from the centre-back. Rating: 6/10

Gary T-Fletcher Quiet by his normal standards, but who can argue with that beautifully struck - and historic - goal? Rating: 6/10

Jon Worthington Tackled strongly and played a neat ball in when Abbott won the penalty, but also made some poor passes. Rating: 6/10

Mark Hudson Made a telling goalline clearance from Hibbert, but like Clarke and Worthington, can do much better. Rating: 6/10

Chris Brandon Worked hard after coming into the starting line-up, crossed well and made some good track-back tackles. Rating: 7/10

Pawel Abbott After an unsettled summer when he could have joined MK Dons, has certainly got the bit between his teeth. Rating: 7/10

Luke Beckett His first goal of the term might have come from a penalty, but it was confidently put away, and they all count! Rating: 6/10

Turning Point: Town keeper Matt Glennon's 47th-minute save from the dangerous Dave Hibbert. The on-loan Preston striker's header looked to be going in, but Glennon got his fingertips to the ball to deflect it against the bar. Had the Millers made it 2-1 at that stage, Town could have wobbled, as they did at Gillingham. Instead they remained firm.

Spotlight on the Ref:

Rotherham boss Alan Knill bitterly disagreed with two of his decisions, but Town fans will have no complaints about white-rose whistler Paul Robinson, who allowed for a greasy surface and kept the game flowing. Some challenges which would have brought a caution from some referess, but Armstrong kept his cards in his pocket.

ROTHERHAM: Cutler, Worrell, Hurst, Mills, Sharps, Keane, Partridge, Williamson (Woods, 74mins), Bopp, Hibbert, Facey (Hoskins, 74mins). Subs not used: Wiseman, Robertson, Montgomery.
