LUKE BECKETT drilled home a dramatic last-gasp leveller as Town twice came from behind to claim a point.
Jo Kuffour's 70th-minute header for Brentford was wiped out within 90 seconds by Danny Schofield's first goal of the season, drilled home sweetly with his left foot.
But when midfielder Kuffour struck again after forcing goalkeeper Matt Glennon into an 89th-minute mistake, Town were facing a second away defeat.
It was testament, therefore, to the fitness and spirit of Peter Jackson's side that as the home fans were still hailing their Special K, Beckett netted with an even crisper effort, two minutes into time added on.
It was a third goal in four games for the former Sheffield United man, who again showed that if there is a chance to be put away inside the penalty area, he has both a cool head and an accurate boot.
And it was also a special moment for Matty Young, who capped a busy cameo appearance by providing the final pass from fellow substitute Andy Booth's nod down for Beckett to dispatch his right-foot shot.
If the West London showdown finished with a fizz, it began in lukewarm fashion.
