Brentford 2, Hudersfield Town 2

Then home skipper Kevin O'Connor, seconds after blocking a goalbound Booth header (from another Clarke long throw) had a shot blocked by Hudson.

Kuffour (who else?) had supplied the cross, and the next problem he caused for Town brought a goal.

The former Arsenal trainee did seem to barge Glennon before he spilled the ball, but Gloucestershire referee Lee Probert saw nothing amiss and the diminutive ace turned to lob the ball home.

Thank goodness for Beckett!

Turning Point: It really has to be Luke Beckett's leveller two minutes into stoppage time. Brentford looked set to take three points after Jo Kuffour's second of the game on 89 minutes. But having been caught out within two minutes of Kuffour's first, they again fell victim to a quick counter punch, with the Town man showing all his predatory instincts.

How they Rated:

Matt Glennon Perhaps at fault for Brentford's second goal (although there was a hint of a foul) but still made some good saves. Rating: 6/10

Andy Holdsworth Looked a little uncomfortable at times against the inspired Kuffour, but worked hard nonetheless. Rating: 6/10

Danny Adams Kept busy by Brentford's appetite for raiding down the flanks. Coped well and played some good balls up. Rating: 7/10

David Mirfin Teamed up with Nathan Clarke to keep home dangerman Chris Moore under wraps. A solid display. Rating: 7/10

Nathan Clarke Workled well with partner David Mirfin against a bustling home side. Caused problems with his long throws. Rating: 7/10

Gary T-Fletcher As ever, worked hard to set up attacks. Injured after 32 minutes when caught late by the booked Oli Skulason. Rating: 6/10

Jon Worthington Competed well in the engine room, came close to scoring, but picked up a first booking of the season. Rating: 7/10

Mark Hudson Looked to enjoy the contest. Always hungry for the ball and made some telling passes to the widemen. Rating: 7/10

Danny Schofield Came in for the injured Chris Brandon and looked up for the challenge. Scored fine first goal of campaign. Rating: 7/10

Pawel Abbott Another gutsy display by a player who moved into midfield when Gary Taylor-Fletcher was forced off injured. Rating: 7/10

Luke Beckett Worked hard to make the most of the chances coming his way. Put away his third goal in four with aplomb. Rating: 7/10

Spotlight on the Ref: There was a question mark over Brentford's second goal (certainly in the eyes of Town keeper Matt Glennon, who appeared to be barged by Jo Kuffour), but Gloucestershire whistler Lee Probert, the only man whose opinion counted, was in a good position and waved play on. Other than that, there was little to debate. A sound show.
