Home HTAFC Huddersfield Town Reports

Tranmere Rovers 2, Huddersfield Town 2

How they rated:

Matt Glennon Beaten twice, but pulled off some great saves as well. Particularly memorable was his double denial of Zola. Rating: 7/10

Andy Holdsworth Like the rest of the defence, looked uncomfortable before the break, but recovered well in the second half. Rating: 6/10

Danny Adams Given a tough time by lively Chris Shuker in the first half, but produced a solid show in the second. Rating: 6/10

Martin McIntosh Skipper worked hard to hold things together and also threatened Tranmere when attacking. Rating: 7/10

David Mirfin A little edgy at first but gradually got his act together to help Town keep a tricky Tranmere side at bay. Rating: 6/10

Gary T-Fletcher Always hungry for the ball and took his third goal in two games with real precision and confidence. Rating: 7/10

Michael Collins Didn't let his head go down when things weren't going his way and, by the end, looked in full control. Rating: 6/10

Mark Hudson It wasn't for the want of trying, but the central midfielder wasn't as effective as down at Swansea. Rating: 6/10

Danny Schofield Unable to make any major impact before being forced off in the 28th minute with a groin injury. Rating: 5/10

Andy Booth Another gutsy display and a first goal of the season. Must have been shattered when he came off. Rating: 7/10

Tom Clarke Couldn't reproduce the display which proved so crucial to Town's win in South Wales on Saturday. Rating: 6/10

Spotlight on the ref:

Midlander Andy Hall upset some of the home fans by turning down appeals for a penalty after 26 minutes. But he was well placed to rule that David Mirfin had chested rather than handled an awkwardly bouncing ball. Home boss Ronnie Moore also disagreed with Chris Greenacre's header in first-half stoppage time being ruled offside.

Tranmere: Ward, Stockdale, Tremarco, Goodison, Mullin (Jennings, 83mins), McCready (Sherriff, 48mins), Shuker, McClaren, Zola, Greenacre, Ellison. Subs not used: Davies, Jones, Achterberg.
