Match report: Millwall 2 - 1 Town
Sep 1 2008 By Doug Thomson
The home fans were still making their feelings on that incident clear when Kandol exploited Town’s sluggish defending to head home right-back Chris Hackett’s deep cross.
It took a timely Unsworth tackle to rob Grabban as he advanced on goal in the 44th minute, and soon after, Town were relieved when Craig’s header from Harris’s cross flew just too high.
Grabban was to have a growing influence on the game, for as well as claiming the winner (from Harris’s pass), his deliveries set up Kandol for a shot which Glennon parried and Harris for a header which the keeper held.
Other than the penalty, Town’s only chances of note fell to Gary Roberts, who screwed a 68th-minute shot wide and couldn’t quite connect with Dickinson’s 81st-minute cross.
