Match report: Town 0 - 1 Leyton Orient

IT WAS Groundhog Day at the Galpharm as Leyton Orient struck early then shut up shop.

Last season Adam Boyd’s goal two minutes and 50 seconds in was enough to separate the sides.

Last night, it took the ex-Hartlepool and Luton man just 62 seconds to make his mark, and it was enough to condemn Town to a fourth home League I defeat and a sixth in all competitions.

Gerry Murphy’s charges, chasing four straight league wins, had three decent penalty appeals turned down and stacks of possession.

But in the caretaker manager’s words, they failed to work the opposition goalkeeper enough, with Glenn Morris scarcely having to make a save of note in the second half.

Nathan Clarke should have done better with a trio of headers, and substitute Danny Broadbent, making his first appearance of the season and only sixth in all, had a good chance in stoppage time, only to shoot too high.
