Match report: Town Reserves 4 - 2 Grimsby Reserves
Dec 18 2008 by Linzi Nicholson, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
Parker’s double a delight for Clark
Suddenly, from nothing, Grimsby began to force chances.
Shane Killock prevented a certain goal on 21 minutes when Andy Taylor raced clear of the Town defence, caught square while waiting for the linesman’s flag for offside, and Killock got in a brilliant tackle to deny Danny North.
Town had been warned, however, and Grimsby pulled a goal back on 28 minutes when Taylor’s cross was attacked by Peter Bore, under pressure from Tom Clarke, and momentum carried both players and the ball over the goalline.
Then, after two minutes of madness, the Mariners reduced the scoreline to 3-2 when Clarke misjudged the position of keeper Matt Glennon and his back-header was seized by Bore, who drove it into an empty net.
