Match report: Northampton 1 - 1 Huddersfield Town

It was hard on the keeper, who had earlier pulled off four telling saves.
He got a crucial touch to Crowe’s flicked shot in the 13th minute, turning it wide for a corner, then in the 54th, he bravely hurled himself at Colin Larkin, who had been played in by Andy Holt, then Leon Constantine as the former Leeds man tried to net the rebound.
Smithies also denied Giles Coke as Northampton tried to force an immediate response to Town’s goal.
The home side also had an 18th-minute penalty appeal for handball by Nathan Clarke turned down while Coke shot over from Larkin’s neat 44th-minute tee-up and skipper Michael Hughes headed wide from Liam Dolman’s deep free-kick with just four minutes of normal time remaining.
Town’s first chance of note came in the 16th minute when Collins set up Danny Cadamarteri for an angled shot which Dunn parried into the path of Keigan Parker.
The ex-Blackpool striker was well placed but unable to get a clean connection as the chance went begging.
Seven minutes later Parker had a shot blocked by Hughes, with Jevons bending the rebound narrowly wide.
