FIRED-UP frontman Gary Taylor-Fletcher will not be risked in the Town Reserves line-up against Barnsley at the Galpharm tomorrow night (7.00).
The 24-year-old signing from Lincoln City has, instead, been placed on standby should Andy Booth struggle to make Saturday's first-team trip to Southend.
Booth was taken off suffering a slight hamstring strain in the 3-1 win against Swansea and, along with Nathan Clarke (knee), didn't train yesterday.
Neither player is expected to miss the visit to Roots Hall - they were joining the squad for bike work and swimming today - but Jackson is erring on the side of caution with Town handily placed fourth in the League I table.
"Fletch is being left out of the Reserves just in case there is any lingering problem with Boothy, but I'm not expecting any problems," explained Jackson, whose second string are in the new Pontin's Holidays League Central Division.
"Boothy and Nathan are both under treatment and should be fine, but I'm delighted to have excellent cover for both of them should it be needed.
"Fletch has settled in really well at the club and he's shown already when coming on as a sub what an influence he can be.
"He was terrific against Swansea and I was gutted for him not to score when he went clean through near the end.
"It was a great move and shows not only what a good footballer he is but how fired-up he is to do well at this football club."
