Aug 16 2005 Huddersfield Examiner
SUPPORTERS young and old have been quick to pick their favourite Town legends.
Between now and the end of the year, Examiner readers have the chance to nominate who they think should be in Town's top 100. Those eventually selected by a panel of judges next January will be included in a book to mark Town's centenary in 2008. Voting has already been brisk, with fans sending nominations directly to the Examiner and to the football club.
The Rev Canon Michael Storey of Crosland Moor was the first to post his selection to the Examiner, picking post-war striker Jimmy Glazzard as his Town Legend. He was included last week with Jimmy Nicholson, Vic Metcalfe and Mark Lillis.
The more votes each player gets, of course, the stronger their case will be when the final judging takes place.
Here are four new nominations:
So why not give some thought to your favourites from years gone by at either Leeds Road or the Galpharm Stadium. Have fun, some great names are already on the list!
