High expectations for the future

GOALSCORER Chris Brandon reckons Town are primed to go all the way this season.

The 29-year-old midfielder set Town on the way to victory at Doncaster with his first strike since April and believes his teammates will take some knocking off top spot.

"It's a great feeling to be top, it's where we want to be and it's where we want to stay," said Brandon.

"Doncaster is a horrible place to come to because they always make it hard, but we've pinched the points and that's a good sign when we are so strong at home.

"It took a massive effort after Saturday's win, but the lads showed a lot of character and I believe we have come a long way since last year.

"A year ago, we would probably have drawn the game against Hartlepool and lost against Doncaster at Belle Vue, so the improvement is there for all to see.

"We have been on a massive learning curve but the lads are now playing very well and it's fantastic to be top and to have everyone looking up at us.

"It gives you the incentive to go out and prove to people that you deserve to be top, even though we already know we are a good team. Confidence in the camp is superb, make no mistake about it."
