FORMER Town loan striker Luke Beckett insists he can still hit his 20-goal target for the season.
Beckett sat out the first eight games of the campaign with Oldham due to a knee-ligament injury, but the setback hasn't affected his high expectations.
The popular 28-year-old, who scored six goals in seven appearances for Town last season, is now working to regain full match fitness - and that's not far away after his welcome comeback as a substitute against Town in Oldham's 3-0 defeat last weekend.
Beckett, who has been a prolific scorer throughout his career, explained:
"My target before the season was to score 20 goals as a bare minimum, but hopefully more.
"If I'd been fit from the word go and playing in most of our games, the aim was more like 25.
"Obviously things haven't started too well, but I always feel capable of scoring and there's no way I'm changing my mind.
"Last season I managed 19 goals from 32 starts (with Stockport, Sheffield United, Town and Oldham), so there's plenty of time to make up for the games I've missed.
"The injury stopped me in my tracks, but I've been injured before and been able to start scoring as soon as I've come back.
"Hopefully that will happen again. The 20-goal target can definitely be achieved if I get back in our side."
