All eyes on Town teamlist

TOWN chief Peter Jackson reckons there will be hot competition on the training ground this week as all eyes turn to the derby clash at Bradford next Monday.

Jackson has six-goal wideman Danny Schofield under treatment for a groin injury which forced him off against Bournemouth but there were no other injuries from the game.

Jackson rested Andy Booth to the bench in favour of strong-running Gary Taylor-Fletcher and, providing he comes through Wednesday's Galpharm Reserve game against Sheffield United (7.00), he will be able to add defender David Mirfin to the mix for Valley Parade.

"People will be battling for places and we've got good competition," said Jackson.

"I didn't play Boothy because it would have been four games in 11 days and he was feeling a little twinge in his groin, and Fletch rewarded me with a goal which was good."

John McAliskey made his debut on loan for Torquay United in their 1-0 win at Cheltenham. He was taken off after 57 minutes. Alan Connell got the winner 10 minutes later.

Town's Juniors scored a 2-0 win against previously unbeaten Sheffield United in the Academy League, Lucas Atkins and Daniel Highley on target with the first goals conceded by United this season.
