Davy disappointed by demonstration

A defiant Davy added: "My main disappointment with what they were saying was two-fold.

"Firstly, the suggestion that I was not telling the truth.

"I think anyone who knows me would agree that is foreign to my nature.

"Secondly, the suggestion that money generated by Huddersfield Town is going into Huddersfield Giants.

"That is so ridiculous as to be laughable.

"The finances of the two clubs are completely separate and both are run as separate companies.

"That is the truth, and if the demonstrators don't choose to believe it, that is something they and I will simply have to live with.

"It was a small minority of fans who demonstrated, but that doesn't lessen the disappointment I feel."

On Town's on-the-pitch plight, Davy said: "It's important to remember we are only a handful of weeks into the season.

"Nobody, especially myself, is happy with where we are in the table. It is neither a pleasant or satisfactory position.

"We need to do better, and I believe we will do better.

"I am assured - and I say assured because I am not the expert in these matters - that we have an excellent squad capable of achieving our minimum objective of reaching the play-offs again.

"In essence it is the same squad which reached the play-offs last season with the addition of an excellent striker and an excellent goalkeeper, who have added an extra dimension to the squad.
