TOWN boss Andy Ritchie says Frank Sinclair’s hamstring injury is not as bad as first feared.
But the experienced defender could still be out for a month.
The quickest return for the 35-year-old Jamaican international, according to physio Lee Martin, is two weeks.
While fellow hamstring injury victim Danny Cadamarteri went to Bournemouth so he could have treatment from Martin, Sinclair stayed at home to rest.
“Given the freshness of the injury, we didn’t think sitting on a coach for so long would do him any good,” said Ritchie, who could look for a loan signing after centre-back David Mirfin also joined the injury list with a knee problem.
Sinclair, who was injured against Blackpool last Tuesday, had a scan on Friday.
Martin explained: “It showed Frank had suffered slight muscle fibre damage rather than a tear.
“A tear could have kept him out for a couple of months, but now it should be between two and four weeks.”
Mirfin’s injury was sustained when he stretched to block a shot during a training session.
“He opened up his medial ligament a bit,” said Ritchie.
“We were hoping he might have made it for Saturday’s match, but unfortunately not.”
