Don’t write us off for big cup shock!

TOWN fans are already looking forward to another massive FA Cup away-day out against the current holders Chelsea.

For the same fixture two years ago 6,112 Galpharm fans went down to Stamford Bridge in the third round of the famous old knockout competition.

There are 57 league positions between the sides and Andy Ritchie can only dream of having the money that Avram Grant has at his disposal.

However Town fans will be hoping for a different result on this occasion after seeing off Premiership side Birmingham City on their way to the last 16.

Jonathan Heap, 21, a sales manager at Debenhams who gets to most games, is optimistic.

“I would have preferred a team like Manchester United or Liverpool who are more entertaining and more open defensively,” he said.

“Chelsea are a hard team to break down but the draw is brilliant for the club.

“I think we could get a 1-1 draw and force a replay and then, who knows?”

Andrew Leeman, 21, a student at the University of Huddersfield, has missed only one Town home game all season and saw them knock out Birmingham.

“I think it’s more of a big pay day for the club rather than a chance to get into the next round but it’s still fantastic. I would have liked someone like Manchester United though.

“Its going to be tough because Avram Grant will no doubt put out a strong team, but I would say we have a reasonable chance.”

James Hanson,19, a builder who sees Town as often as he can, said, “It’s a good opportunity to see the likes of Terry, Lampard and Anelka. There’ll be no pressure on us either.”

Trisha Langford, 17, currently studying at Huddersfield New College, will enjoy the game in London.

“I think it’s great to draw Chelsea,” she said.

“It was one of my favoured teams, but I would have liked to draw Bristol Rovers as we’d have had a better chance of beating them.”

Brendan McManus, 60 and now retired, says he goes to a few games.

“I would have preferred one of the lower teams in the draw for a better chance to get through, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed,” he said.
