Jevon's goal not quickest

AT 43 seconds, Phil Jevons’ goal against Swindon on Saturday might have been quick – but it wasn’t the fastest ever by a Town player.

That record is held by Ken Willingham, who on December 14, 1935, had the ball in the back of the Sunderland net after just 10 seconds, with his fourth touch of the ball.

Town also went on to win that fixture, which was in the original First Division, 1-0.
