The fans deserve better: Ken Davy

ANGRY Ken Davy today laid down the law about what he and the fans expect from Town.

Andy Ritchie’s side are bidding to improve a miserable league run of five defeats in six matches against Brighton at the Galpharm tonight and Davy concedes: “We have to put things right.”

Potentially, a new attendance low for the stadium could be set if fans continue to vote with their feet – only 7,823 turned out for the defeat to Southend – and the club owner admits supporters deserve more from team performances.

“Huddersfield Town supporters deserve more from their team than is currently being delivered, particularly at home.

“They have a right to expect to see passion, determination and enthusiasm from their team and, quite simply, this is not being delivered.

“Southend are a pretty good side but, during the first half on Saturday, we made them look like Premiership material and while we improved significantly in the second half, it was not enough to bring us the points.

“What is particularly disappointing is that we have some excellent players who take real pride in playing for this great club, and we have achieved some terrific scalps this season, including the victory over Birmingham in the FA Cup.

“All too often, however, we are failing to perform at our best and we need to put that right as soon as possible for the benefit of everyone who supports Huddersfield Town.”
