Leon back at Leeds for vital final push

LEON CONSTANTINE is back at Leeds – and could face Town a week tonight.

The much-travelled 30-year-old was on target for Oldham when they thumped the Galpharm side 4-1 at Boundary Park last month.

But Latics boss John Sheridan has decided against extending his loan into a second month.

And Leeds chief Gary McAllister is happy to have the former Port Vale marksman back in the fold.

Constantine missed the early months of the campaign with an ankle injury then returned to score twice in seven games before breaking an arm.

He switched to injury-hit Oldham in order to regain fitness.

Jermaine Beckford and Dougie Freedman are McAllister’s current preferred strike pairing.

Constantine joins Tresor Kandol and Anthony Elding in competing for a place.

“We’ve got a tight unit of players,” said McAllister.

“It’s not just about the 11 who are starting, but the squad as a whole. Everyone will have a part to play.”

McAllister’s sixth-placed side host Carlisle on Saturday.
