Luke’s late leveller

LUKE MALCHER rescued a Pontin’s League point for Town reserves with a late leveller against Wolves.

The 19-year-old striker, right, slotted an 82nd-minute goal to make it 2-2 in the Central Division clash played at AFC Telford.

Town started strongly and Danny Schofield’s header hit a post before an 11th-minute opener from Luke Beckett, who forced home Lucas Akins’ cross from close range.

Akins shot wide soon after, but Wolves began to find their feet and equalised through Denes Rosa, who lobbed home after 28 minutes.

Liam Hughes made it 2-1 with a confident finish four minutes into the second half.

Town keeper Alex Smithies denied Hughes, Rosa, Alex Melbourne and Luke Bennett.

And his opposite number Billy Lumley thwarted Akins in a one-on-one before Malcher struck for a point.
