Beckett talks

TOP scorer Luke Beckett looks like leaving Town for Bradford City with still a year of his Galpharm contract to run.

New manager Stan Ternent – who has Andy Booth, Phil Jevons and the injured Danny Cadamarteri on the books – gave 12-goal Beckett permission to speak to League II City.

Beckett said: “Nothing is sorted at this stage, but Bradford are interested and we’ll talk.

“I think the clubs have sorted out a package (including appearance payments and possible promotion) and I know Stuart McCall from our days together with Sheffield United.

“We’ll see what happens when we talk in detail, that’s all I can really say at this stage because nothing is finalised.”

Beckett has 33 goals in 70 Town starts and 23 substitute appearances.
