United for next century!

AT the initial meeting of a newly-constituted steering committee for the creation of a united group of Huddersfield Town supporters, everyone agreed that Supporters Association was the best name for such a group – incorporating existing organisations.

It is to be stressed, though, that the Association is to be available to all Town fans.

Its principle objectives are to support the club and to support the supporter.

It is planned to be formally launched in August before the start of Town’s centenary season and this will require plenty of hard work in the meantime to ensure that everything is ready.

Such a plan will also require the co-operation of the club.

The new spirit of partnership that started with the special Century of Support celebrations at the last match of the season will surely foster the healthy new relationship that is needed.

Keep an eye on this column for further progress reports!
