New physio for Town

IAN LIVERSEDGE was part of the new-look Town management team leading the players through their first pre-season training session today.
He has taken over physiotherapy duties from Lee Martin, who is leaving by mutual consent and is set to run his own practice.
Liversedge, whose last club was Accrington, worked with Town boss Stan Ternent for five years at Burnley, where Ronnie Jepson and Mick Docherty were also in the mix.
But his physio career goes back to the early Eighties, when he started out at Newcastle before linking up with Joe Royle at Oldham. His decade at Boundary Park included the club’s spell in the Premier League, and Liversedge has also worked with Manchester United.
He has also been at Stoke City, and his move to the Galpharm ends a four-year stint at Accrington.
Adam Hirst remains on the medical side, with the club keen to tap into his specialist skills in massage and sports nutrition.
Former Town and Blackpool goalkeeper Martin’s departure ends a five-year spell at the Galpharm.
The former England Under 20 cap was brought in by Peter Jackson in 2003 after spending four years as physio at Macclesfield.
