Millwall trip provides top chance says Stan

STAN TERNENT aims to turn the heat on Millwall tomorrow by maintaining the bright record of his Town managerial predecessors at the New Den.

Peter Jackson’s side scored a battling goalless draw there two seasons ago and 12 months ago, Andy Booth and Malvin Kamara clinched a 2-1 win under Andy Ritchie.

Now Ternent is determined to build on Wednesday’s encouraging Carling Cup display against Sheffield United with a first League I victory of the campaign.

Millwall have the same two draws and one defeat league record and Ternent admitted: “Both of us badly need a three-point haul.

“It won’t be easy, because Millwall have some decent players and Kenny Jackett is an experienced manager.

“But while the high expectation level up here has added to the pressure on us to perform, especially at home, Millwall’s fans will fully expect to see their side win at the New Den.

“It’s never been a place for the faint-hearted, but it’s a nice stadium and a nice pitch, and it’s 11 versus 11, like any other match.
