Ternent says he wants the Wembley way in cup

STAN TERNENT would love to mark Town’s centenary by leading the way to Wembley in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The Galpharm boss says he will field as strong a side as possible when the club kick-off their bid at Darlington tomorrow.

Town made it to Wembley in the competition, then known as the Autoglass Trophy, in 1994, losing to Swansea City on penalties after a 1-1 extra-time draw.

But their recent record has been poor, with first-round elimination in the last three seasons.

Ternent, whose team got a first-round bye, is eager to seal a place in Saturday morning’s Northern area quarter-final draw.
