In the battle of the top two in League I, Scunthorpe beat Millwall at Glanford Park to open up a three-point lead.
Gary Hooper put them ahead after five minutes and Paul Hayes made it two from the spot 11 minutes later after Zak Whitbread handled.
Matt Sparrow scored from 12 yards just after the break to make it 3-0, but Neil Harris half-volleyed home after 62 minutes to put Millwall back in contention.
Tony Craig scored in a goalmouth scramble to set up a tense finish, but Scunthorpe held on for victory.
Leeds went second with a 3-0 home win over Walsall.
