Town's Ternent says FA Cup home draw is key

STAN TERNENT believes the visit of Port Vale on Saturday week has all the makings of an entertaining FA Cup tie.

Town’s manager got his wish when his side were handed a home match against Dean Glover’s League II team in yesterday’s first-round draw.

It was the 22nd of the 40 ties to come out of the bag at Soho Square, where former Arsenal ace Martin Keown and ex-Spurs star Ossie Ardiles made the pairings.

“I’m satisfied with the draw, because the first thing you always look for is a home tie,” said Ternent.

“It’s also against a team in a lower division to ourselves, although we certainly won’t be complacent, and they’re not too far away, so they should bring a decent following to help create a good atmosphere.”
