Michael Flynn: Ternent should have stayed

MICHAEL FLYNN is an injury scare for tomorrow’s FA Cup clash with Port Vale but insists all the squad will be giving 100% to the cause in the wake of Stan Ternent’s departure.
The 28-year-old midfielder was one of 11 players brought in by the former boss and admits he thinks the club were hasty in parting company with Ternent, but it won’t affect his desire to help Town turn around their season.
“The chairman-elect (Dean Hoyle) has given his reasons to the players, but I think the club have been very premature,” said Flynn, who worked under Ternent and Ronnie Jepson at Gillingham.
“Fifteen matches isn’t long enough and the board have said that, but I think there is too much chopping and changing in football anyway. It’s something I don’t agree with.
“The clubs who have been successful are those who have had stability and continuity.”
