Nathan’s Town target for FA Cup

NATHAN CLARKE wants to help Town reach the FA Cup second round to kick-start an upsurge in form for the rest of the season.

The central defender, who will be 25 on November 30, says there is always an element of upheaval when one manager goes and speculation starts about another.

But he firmly believes it’s the responsibility of the players to focus on the job in hand – which means winning against Port Vale in tomorrow’s first-round tie at the Galpharm (3.00).

If Town achieve that feat they will have back-to-back victories for the first time this season, and Clarke says that record is one which must be improved.

“We’ve still got two thirds of the season to go and it would be great to get on a good run and get some decent form together,” said Clarke, who is fit despite having stitches about his right eye.
