Our big debt to Andrew Watson: Ken Davy
Nov 8 2008 by Mel Booth, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
CHAIRMAN Ken Davy says Andrew Watson will be sadly missed on the board at Town .
Away on holiday at the moment, Davy took time out to highlight the contribution of Watson, who resigned when Stan Ternent departed on Tuesday.
“Everyone involved with Huddersfield Town is extremely disappointed that the departure of Stan Ternent also led to the resignation from the board of Andrew Watson,” said Davy.
“As chairman, I would like to express our sincerest thanks to Andrew both personally and on behalf of the board and all the staff for his tremendous contribution to Town.
“It is all too easily forgotten that six years ago the club was in ruins. After facing financial disaster and months in administration, we were still saddled with debt and no retail or commercial income of any consequence.
“The lottery income was almost non-existent with most commentators assuming the closure of the Academy was inevitable in any rescue attempt and, of course, only eight players turned up for pre-season training.”
