Our big debt to Andrew Watson: Ken Davy

Davy added: “This was the massive challenge that Andrew Watson took on as chief executive and into which he threw his enormous energy, enthusiasm and love of Huddersfield Town.

“When he left the chief exec role some three-and-a-half years later, he had helped transform the club into one with a solid infrastructure, a great team spirit and with all aspects consistently delivering year on year improvements, despite at times some less than satisfactory on-field results.

“That Town are in a position to move forward into what we all hope will be a successful future is due in great measure to the dedicated service Andrew has given, firstly as chief executive and latterly as football director and vice-chairman.

“His counsel will be sadly missed from the boardroom and on behalf of everyone associated with Town we wish him every future success.”
