Dean Hoyle: Boardroom changes are under way

DEAN HOYLE confirmed today he wants Town "moving forward under the right manager" by the time he takes 70% control of the club at the end of this centenary season.

The multi-millionaire businessman has already lined up an unnamed replacement for Andrew Watson on the board and believes Town’s prospects in League I will improve under caretaker boss Gerry Murphy even before a new manager is appointed.

Hoyle stressed the stunning 4-3 FA Cup first-round exit to Port Vale and the upcoming transfer window in January would have no effect on his search, because he’s focused only on making the right choice regardless of timescale.

"I doubt a decision will be made on the new manager in the next few weeks and, despite the disappointing result, the way the team played on Saturday gives me even more confidence in Gerry Murphy and (coach) Graham Mitchell to move us on," said Hoyle today. "We are still looking up, not down, because we’ve got some very good players in our squad who have shown they can produce some excellent football, so I firmly believe there are a lot of positives to build on.
