“I grew up dreaming of scoring winning goals at places like this, so for it to come true is fantastic,” said Collins.
“But full marks to Danny Cadamarteri, because he set me up brilliantly.
“It was a bold substitution by Gerry Murphy and Graham Mitchell because Keigan Parker was playing really well.
“But I think Danny made all the difference because he provided energy just as Leeds were tiring and it was a great cameo role.
“He picked me out superbly, and had I not been as tired as I was, I would probably have taken it down on my chest. Instead I just threw myself at it and it was great to see it go in.”
Collins added: “I’m delighted for the fans and for (chairman-elect) Dean Hoyle, and hopefully it’s the start of something.”
