Match report: Town 0 - 1 Leyton Orient

But it needed a good save from Glennon to stop Orient going two up in the 16th minute.
Thornton and Boyd combined to set up lively midfielder Jason Demetriou, whose attempted dink was smothered by the Town stopper.
Town’s best chance of the game came two minutes later when Phil Jevons’ low ball into the box from the right was cleared into the path of Roberts, who steadied himself, took aim and drilled in a low shot which looked destined for the left-hand corner until Stephen Purches popped up to block on the line.
Soon after centre-back Tamika Mkandawire made a fine block to thwart Jevons as he tried to connect with an Andy Holdsworth cross, then Roberts had a 25th-minute shot saved.
Penalty appeal number one came on 29 minutes, when Mkandawire appeared to handle a Clarke long throw – linesman Bob Roberts ruled it had hit the defender’s chest – then Michael Collins, seeking his fourth goal in as many games, shot narrowly wide before Craney’s 43rd-minute effort after Alton Thelwell could only clear to the edge of the area was saved.
Town continued to press after the break, but Collins set the tone when he rolled another diagonal shot just wide.
