Luke Beckett on his time at Huddersfield Town

“Going part-time suits my circumstances, I know Gainsborough’s assistant manager David Reeves from my time at Chesterfield, and I think it’s a decent standard of football.

“I believe that by dropping down into non-league football, I will actually prolong my career, which is what I want to do.

“I’m lucky in that I have a bit of security, and I’m also doing a sports massage course soon, so we’ll see where I end up.

“I’m sad to leave Town, because the lads are great, the fans are great, and I’ve become attached to the place and the people here.

“I don’t think the supporters have seen the best of me, and I’m sorry about that, but I’ve thought things through long and hard and I believe this is the right move for me at this stage of my career.”
