DEAN HOYLE wants Town fans to play their part in helping Lee Clark kick off his managerial career with victory over Hereford at the Galpharm on Saturday.

The chairman-elect is optimistic the club can buck the trend of crowds dipping on the Saturday before Christmas.

Hoyle wants as many of Town’s 16,625 centenary season ticket holders as possible to click through the turnstiles.

And he’s been encouraged by the response of floating fans to the offer of cut-price admission when tickets are bought in advance (they are £8 today and £10 tomorrow).

“We realise the current climate is tough and that’s why we’ve tried to make watching the club as cheap as possible,” said the Heavy Woollen-based businessman.
